JOENSUU, FINLAND IS ALL SET TO WELCOME THE FIM SNOWCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR ROUND 2
Posted by pdmx on 12 apr : 11:36

"Get ready for an action-pack snowcross racing as Joensuu in Finland, prepares to host the second round of the FIM Snowcross World Championship on the 13th and 14th of April, following the thrilling kickoff in Turkiye. This time, the event will feature the opening races of the FIM Women’s Snowcross World Championship alongside the FIM Europe Snowcross European Championship..."
With Joensuu boasting one of the younger populations in Finland, excitement is at an all-time high as the city hosts its inaugural SNX World Championship race on a Harness racing stadium. Jesse Kirchmeyer enters this round as the leader with 57 points, closely followed by the first round's winner, Magnus Reiten, with 55 points. Meanwhile, Elias Bacher, trailing by 15 points, aims to close the gap on the top contenders.

Kirchmeyer, the American sensation, clinched the red plate in Turkiye with a stellar performance, including a win in the Qualifying Heat (10 points gained) and a strong 1-2 finish, securing him second place overall. Reiten, hailing from nearby Norway, seeks to reclaim the top spot with another dominant display in Northern Europe.

In the fiercely competitive FIM Women’s Snowcross World Championship, defending champion Malene Cottew from Norway faces stiff competition from home riders Nanna Peteri, Emma Laamanen and Saga Forsell. Still from Scandinavia, Swedish contenders like Wilma Jonsson and Thilda Persson will also try to unsettle snow ace Cottew while Ida Rosell will not be taking part in the Finnish round due to injury. Kelly Collier who was riding in Turkiye few weeks ago will be the only representative from the USA.

Catch every thrilling moment as Joensuu becomes the centre of the snowcross world with amazing racing over the weekend marking the 2nd out of 3 SNX Round in 2024!
