Fafe to host FIM EnduroGP rounds four and five Challenging Portuguese terrain awaits competitors Josep Garcia heads EnduroGP title chaseA fixture on the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship for the past couple of seasons, Fafe is always a well-received location for competitors, teams and fans. The region in Northern Portugal is famed for its scenic mountainous landscape with large boulder passes and rocky trails.While the AKRAPOVIC Super Test will be held in the centre of Fafe on Friday evening, a 50-kilometre course will take competitors into the heart of the surrounding countryside during each day of racing on Saturday and Sunday. The route will see riders complete the EXPOTRADE Cross Test and POLISPORT Extreme Test before concluding with the GMOTO Enduro Test. With three laps to contest each day, it will be a demanding weekend of racing for all.Close racing expected in AKRAPOVIC Super TestIn the AKRAPOVIC Super Test, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia maintains his lead in the series. The Spaniard won the opening two rounds, but slipped to ninth at round three.With rival TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon closing the gap to five points, Garcia will aim to be back to his best on Friday in Fafe.Garcia leads the way in EnduroGPAs the FIM EnduroGP approaches the midway point in the season, it’s Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Josep Garcia who currently holds the upper hand over his EnduroGP classmates. Claiming four wins from six starts so far in 2026 has helped the Spaniard build up an 11-point lead over his teammate Andrea Verona in second. Last time out in Finland, Verona finally secured his first overall victory of the season on day one, before putting in a strong charge on day two to place a close second. The Italian appears to be reaching peak form at this important stage in the championship fight and will be giving it 100 per cent to put himself on the top step of the podium in Fafe.Third overall, but slipping to 30 points behind Verona, is TM MOTO Boano Factory Enduro Team’s Zach Pichon. The Frenchman has been riding well this year, but has yet to truly challenge the top two riders. Returning to Fafe, where he claimed his maiden EnduroGP victory in 2025, will ensure added motivation to succeed this weekend for Pichon.Just four points behind Pichon in fourth overall is Sherco Racing Factory’s Steve Holcombe. In realtà la provincia è quella di Rimini ma Montecopiolo sta proprio sul confine fra Romagna e Marche, più vicina alla Repubblica di San Marino, 23 chilometri, che alle spiagge adriatiche, circa 40 km.…"Meglio così, almeno nessuno dei 200 piloti iscritti alla quarta prova del Campionato Italiano Enduro Major&Veteran cadrà in tentazione, deliziato forse anche dalla leggera brezza che potrebbe soffiare dai 900 metri di altitudine del paesino romagnolo.Montecopiolo, con la regia del Moto Club Acerboli sarà la quarta prova 2026, la penultima dunque della stagione e le classifiche potrebbero subire ancora qualche bello scossone visto che spazio di manovra ce n’è ancora parecchio per i diversi podii di classe. La gara prevede circa 150 chilometri suddivisi su tre giri da 50 km, ognuno dei quali contenente un Enduro Test Honda Red Moto e un Cross Test 24MX, con partenza domenica mattina alle 8,30 dal centro del Paese, proprio di fronte al Municipio.Ospite d’eccezione in questa gara, come a Bosio lo era stato Davide Soreca, sarà Jacopo Cerutti (Honda), il campione italiano Motorally, dakariano, vincitore di due Africa Eco Race e recente trionfatore all’Hellas Rally in Grecia: Cerutti che correrà in sella a aveva già partecipato lo scorso anno al Campionato ma le concomitanze con le gare di altre discipline non gli avevano permesso di disputare l’intera stagione. Così ha deciso di tornare, almeno in questa prova di Montecopiolo, e con lui lo spettacolo è assicurato !La concomitanza con il Mondiale Enduro di Fafe, in Portogallo, porterà di nuovo a qualche assenza, ma sarà interessante assistere alla battaglia della Top Class che al momento vede in testa Roberto Rota (Honda – Honda Racing Red Moto) con 54 punti contro i 50 di Andrea Bassi (Husqvarna) mentre in terza posizione, assente anche questa volta, c’è sempre Deny Philippaerts con 20 punti. Attenzione però a Mattia Traversi (KTM) che conosce bene questa gara e potrebbe rappresentare l’outsider di questo quarto round di Major&Veteran.Neanche Francesco Pasqualetti (KTM) in testa alla Master 36 può stare tranquillo perché se è vero che lui può contare su 60 punti è anche vero che alle sue spalle, con sole 9 lunghezze di distacco c’è Lorenzo Pastore (Sherco) che ha un vantaggio di 12 punti su Maicol Parini (Husqvarna) terzo con solo tre punti in più di Maicol Pietranera (KTM) quarto.Nella Master 39 Damiano Lullo (Husqvarna) ha 13 punti di vantaggio su Tommaso Lilli (Husqvarna) che a sua volta ne ha solo sei su Lorenzo Scali (Triumph) che si trova terzo, a pari merito con Domenico Morelli (KTM). Stessa situazione nella Expert 42 dove Giovanni Sommaruga (Honda) conduce con 13 lunghezze di vantaggio su Riccardo Chiappa (Husqvarna)che da secondo può contare su 8 punti di differenza da Pierluigi Camparmò (KTM) con un Paolo Bernardi (Husqvarna) pericolosissimo a soli due punti dal terzo. Si fa scottante la Expert 45 con un Matteo Ferrari (Beta – MC Sebino Camuno) primo con 60 punti ma è alle sue spalle che la situazione si fa bollente visto che Marco Rughi (Beta) e Claudio Boracchi (Husqvarna) hanno esattamente lo stesso numero di punti: 43 per tutti e due.Caliente anche la Skilled 48 dove Massimiliano Porfiri (Sherco) forte di due vittorie su tre gare ha solo 3 punti di vantaggio su Davide Dall’Ava (KTM – TNT Corse), vincitore a Bosio, con Luca Politanò (KTM) terzo a quota 43 punti. Niente male la battaglia anche nella Skilled 51con Alessio Paoli (Husqvarna – Team Garaffi) primo con un bottino tondo tondo di 60 punti assediato però alle spalle da Luigi Cogato (KTM) staccato di 13 lunghezze, e con un Paolo Della Zuanna (GASGAS) che gli alita sul collo con solo 4 punti di distacco.Nella Superveteran 54 Luca Loss (KTM) con le sue tre vittorie e i suoi 60 punti precede Mirko Silvestrin (Beta) di nove lunghezze mentre dietro di lui Andrea Pagani (GASGAS) ha un ritardo di 13 punti. Nella Superveteran 57 in testa alla classifica c’è Roberto Bazzurri (Beta) con 13 punti in più del secondo, Paolo Bertorello (KTM) : più ravvicinati gli altri distacchi, Fabio Rosano (Fantic), terzo, è a 2 punti da Bertorello e con i suoi 45 punti è anche lui a soli due punti dal quarto, Luca Gandolfo (KTM). Tredici i punti di vantaggio nella Iron 60 per Fabrizio Hriaz (Fantic – Team Specia Fantic Racing) su Roberto Cesareni (Husqvarna – MC Sebino Camuno) che a sua volta ne ha 11 sul terzo, Adriano Carta (Yamaha).C’è una certa curiosità intorno a Lucio Chiavini (Triumph) nella Iron 63 perché da quando è arrivato lui nessuno è più riuscito a vincere: Chiavini ha due vittorie al suo attivo ed è terzo in classifica con 40 punti contro i 54 di Fabio Benetti (Triumph) e i 45 di Sergio Bazzurri (Husqvarna): che cosa accadrà a Montecopiolo in questa classe che vede ben 20 piloti iscritti?Ma non di soli piloti è fatta la battaglia romagnola, anche fra i Moto Club infatti i distacchi sono ridotti all’osso: il Sebino Camuno conduce con 163 punti ma alle sue spalle l’Amatori Fuoristrada Sibillini e il Civezzano sono a pari merito con 158 punti. Nel Challenge Enduro KTM, al suo quarto appuntamento 2026 nella Major&Veteran, il panorama è ampio. Nella classe Major in testa si trova Federico Incerti, su 300 2T, con un totale di 46 punti e quindi un margine minimo rispetto ai 42 di Gianmaria Zaccaria Mantegani su 250 4T che ugualmente ne ha solo 4 in più rispetto a Francesco Pittà. Nella Veteran invece le differenze sono ancora più piccoline: Mimmo Giancone su 300 2T è sempre primo con 43 punti contro i 41 di Libertino Parla, 350 4T; più staccato il terzo, Flavio Gioia – 300 2T – che ha 28 punti, ma attenzione alle retrovie perché Luca Loss, con la sua 125 2T potrebbero tentare il colpaccio.
