The press conference took place in the Media Centre of the Samota Rocket Motor Circuit, which was specifically built for the event and has received very positive reviews from the MXGP riders. Those in attendance of the press conference were Infront Moto Racing CEO David Luongo, FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela along with the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Dr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, BBA., MBA, S.E, MBA, Governor of West Nusa Tenggara Dr. H. Zulkieflimansyah, SE, M.Sc as well as MXGP of Indonesia Project Manager Ridwan Syah, who shared their excitement for the event, the support of the local fans and the positive feedback received from the entire MXGP paddock about the impressive circuit built here in Samota, which keeps them very motivated for future events at this venue.


Following the speeches to the media, the officials took a tour of the paddock where they had the opportunity to meet the riders and team members, as they got a taste for the MXGP paddock and the MXGP actions!

The day continued with a very exciting and colourful opening ceremony which took place on the podium/start area of the track, before the first race of the day. It began with a beautiful traditional dance performance, followed by the speeches of Infront Moto Racing CEO David Luongo, FIM/CMS Director Antonio Alia Portela, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Dr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, BBA., MBA, Chairman of Indonesian Motorsport Federation (IMI) H Bambang Soesatyo, S.E, MBA and CEO of Samota Enduro Gemilang (SEG) M Ihsan Zulkieflimansyah, as they once again shared their excitement for the Indonesian Grand Prix and its success and welcome the thousands of spectators onsite who were keen on enjoying the MXGP racing for the first time.

The ceremony then concluded with a very impressive air show that got the whole public, riders, teams and officials excited for the opening races of the day.
